European Integration and Migration Conference

On March 23, 2022, the conference on European Integration and Migration was held via Zoom at Atatürk University.

The conference started with the opening speeches of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülüm Bayraktaroğlu Özçelik. 

In the first session, Assoc. Prof Dr. Sedat Sirmen delivered a lecture on ” The Evaluation of Residence Permit Decisions of States within the Scope of ECtHR Decisions”.

In the second session, Dr. Murat Kurun has delivered a speech titled “The Principle of Non-refoulement in the ECHR”.

And finally, M. Sinem Bayram Dumludağ, Research Assistant in the Faculty of Law at Atatürk University, talked about “The Comparison of the EU Temporary Protection Directive and Turkish Legislation In Terms of Deportation of Persons Under Temporary Protection.

At the end of the conference, a very fruitful Q&A session has been carried out.

Talks on Migration (ToM) 10

The tenth of the Talks on Migration series occurred on March 16, 2022, via Zoom.

Prof. Dr. Jinske Verhellen was the keynote speaker of this session.

Professor Verhellen gave a talk on “Cross Border Portability of Refugees’ Personal and Family Status– A plea for Better Interplay Between Private International Law and Migration Law”.
