Talks on Migration (ToM) 12

The final session of the Talks on Migration took place on April 27, 2022.

Özcan Mutlu, former deputy of Greens Party in Germany, was the keynote speaker of the session.

Mutlu delivered a speech titled “Migration from Migrant’s perspective: How Germany Becomes Homeland?”.

European Integration and Migration Conference

On April 14, 2022, the conference on European Integration and Migration was held via Zoom at Dicle University.

The conference started with the opening speeches of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülüm Bayraktaroğlu Özçelik.

In the first session, Assoc. Prof Dr. Sedat Sirmen delivered a speech titled ” The Principle of Ius soli and its Application and ECtHR’s Approach”.

Then Döndü Kuşçu, Research Assistant in the Faculty of Law at Dicle University, talked about the effects of the Turkish Constitutional Court’s pilot decisions on the regulations regarding the deportation of foreigners .

And in the last session, Filinta Rozerin Tellioğlu made a presentation on “Annulment of Marriages of the Parties who are under Temporary Protection Status and Divorce Suits”.

At the end of the conference, a very thought-provoking Q&A session has been carried out.

Talk on Migration (ToM) 11

The 11th of the Talks on Migration took place on March 30, 2022.

David Savard, Emergency Coordinator at IOM-Ankara, was the keynote speaker of the session.

Mr. Savard touched upon the control takeovers that happened in Anatolia and migrations that happened across the lands of Turkey.
